THE BEACH & BEYOND
There are so many reasons to embrace coastal color in your home! Colors are the backdrop that can create a state of mind reflecting the wonderful, spirited, fun times with family.
If you’re decorating a second home for the first time, congratulations! This is an amazing opportunity to start fresh and fill your space with colorful things that bring you joy.
If you have a home by the shore that simply needs a bit of refreshing, you are truly blessed and we are so happy that you found us. Maine Cottage designs pieces that celebrate family and create memories for generations to come.
If you live in the city and simply love the idea of bringing a beach vibe to your everyday décor, you’ve also come to the right place. After all, your home is where you are free to be who you want to be, and the place to express yourself.
Finding your perfect palette will help everything come together with ease and style. At the end of the day, there is nothing more comforting than walking in your home and feeling at peace.
COASTAL CUES
When people think of seaside colors, blue and white are the most common building blocks that come to mind. It’s only natural that the sea and sky are the inspiration for some of the most popular coastal palettes for home décor. Just like Mother Nature, there are endless ranges and blends from bright and clear to soft and muted.
Maine Cottage designers are so inspired by the coast that it’s easy to see the influence of nature reflected in many of our favorite colors. Lagoon, Wave, Surf, and Vast Sky are a few beautiful blues created with a seaside vibe in mind. Adding these hues to your home will instantly create a feeling of peace and tranquility.

For a classic nautical or deep navy blue, we offer Marine and Academy. Marine is a coastal interpretation of Pantone’s 2020 Color of the Year, Classic Blue, and you can’t go wrong with True Blue. Another reason blue is a favorite go-to hue is that there are so many variations and they all blend together beautifully.

BRING IN THE SUN
Designers learned from painters that you can effortlessly create a beachy color theme by mixing and matching reds, pinks, yellows and oranges to create the look a gorgeous sunset (or sunrise). The painterly palette ranges from soft pinks like Bermuda Beach to bold Shrimp and Tomato red to clear yellow Sun. With so many options, you can have fun discovering your favorite color combinations that make you feel warm and at home.
For a timeless coastal combination, try pairing your favorite sunny hue (Zinnia, Shrimp, Sun, Ale) with pale shades like White, Milk, Ivory, or Oyster. Neutral greys like Slate and Dusk are also effortless options that complement almost any color scheme.

I have several of your pieces and love them. I just wish you put out more catalogs to help in the decorating process. I have requested catalogs and get just a tiny one.
Do you have a color chart showing the colors and listing the names? Is it possible to order touch-up paint? I have a set of dining room chairs that we just love, but the paint is wearing off the arms. They are in great shape, otherwise, and I would like to touch-up the bare spots. I think I know the name of the color, but a color chart would help me be sure.
